Leveling a cabinet is commonly required due to unevenness of floors.  In some instances the cabinet or table base in question may have adjustable feet that can be screwed in or out to accommodate this condition.  In other cases you can use a simple "shim" under the leg or foot of the item in question.  When making this sort of adjustment you may notice that doors and drawers are affected and may need minor adjustments as well.

Here is one method of shimming.  To steady a bookshelf or other furniture, just slide a shim under the edge to correct the imbalance. Score along the exposed part of the shim and snap it away. Shims are available at your local hardware store or home center in bundles or packs. They are usually about 6-inches long, 2-inches wide and tapered up to a half inch thick. With a supply of shims in your toolbox you can really even things out.

Plastic shims are also readaly available.
